There will be a test for the concept of Motion. It will include speed, distance, velocity, and acceleration. Review Chapter 18, section 1.
Know the terms: speed, average speed, velocity, time, distance, reference point, acceleration.
Be able to use the formulas to solve for speed, distance, time, and acceleration. Be able to determine velocity of the child on the bus as they move together, as the child walks backwards, and just the bus. Be able to graph speed (distance/time) and interpret graphs about the speed or acceleration of an object. We have studied this in class.
B day will have their test on Motion on FRIDAY.
A day will have their on MONDAY.
There will be a quick review before the test, so if you have questions be prepared to ask them.
All problems will be solved and answered in the format that I taught in class. You will
1. Write the formula that you will use to solve the problem ( I will have all of the formulas written on the board so you just have to select the correct one).
2. List all of the known information.
3. Set up the problem and solve it. You may use a calculator if you bring one. If you don't have one you will have to do all of the math by hand.
4. Write the complete answer including units.
You will NOT receive credit for correct answers if you don't show the process of your thinking.
