FCAT REVIEW Home Learning Assignments and BUCKETS

On Monday and Tuesday (B day and A day) each student should have 2 lessons from the electronic Fusion book. Yes, I now have granted you all access to the 8th grade book also (I think). Make sure you take notes in your ISN and have them ready for checking during your class next week.

Starting Monday (B day) and Tuesday (A day) the Home Learning Assignment changes. You will be required to do a UNIT from the electronic books. Then you will take the UNIT Quiz. Either print out the quiz and glue it into your ISN or write out the questions and supply the correct answer. These assignments will count for your 4th nine weeks grade.

Access to the Electronic Fusion books that read to you and have the electronic lessons and the Unit quizzes is through www.thinkcentral.com
Use you student log in and password. If you attended a Duval School in 6th or 7th grade try to log in through that school's name. Several students have been successful this way.
Go to My Library to access the books. You should have 6th, 7th, and 8th grade access as of today.

BUCKETS are the new review style. Each class period there will be at least 3 buckets for each person to dip into and complete. This week our buckets were: Punnet Squares and Pedigrees, Rock Cycle, Law of Superposition and the Fossil Record, and Distance Time Graphs. If you were absent it is your responsibility to get the materials and complete the buckets.

SUPPLIES
I suggest that you take time to review what supplies you have ready for your use in your bookbag. You need a glue stick  and tape everyday for the buckets. You also should have your own color pencils. These will really be necessary on 4/14 if a well laid plan comes together. The classroom supplies are dwindling. We are out of tissues. Several of the staplers have been broken through student negligence (and just left on the counter for someone to deal with). The new color pencils I bought in January aren't new any more. In fact, they are in pitiful shape so you need your own. The rulers have been broken and so have the table boxes - and I'm not buying any more for this year. If you need tissues why not carry some? Get some small packs and keep on in a pocket or your bookbag. I will supply scissors as long as the pairs we have last. There will be some tape available and a few glue sticks, but they only go so far.  You should be a self-sufficient student. There are individual tape dispensers, glue stick, and staplers that are fairly portable and inexpensive. Why not take the time this weekend to review your supplies and re-stock. Schools not over until we wave goodbye on the last day.
